FAQ

How can I resize a photo?

First, upload your photos into our photo resizer. You can type in the desired number of pixels for height, then the width will be changed automatically, and vice versa. It’s also possible for you to enter a new number of pixels for both height and width.

We offer one more option – downsizing your image by percentage. For example, its size can be decreased by 30%. This is perfect if you simply want to make your image smaller without dealing with pixel dimensions.

How can I resize photos online for free?

It can be easily down in our online photo resizer. Scroll up to the top of the page, import your images, specify the settings and click on “Resize Images”. Your processed copies will be ready for downloading in a heartbeat.

How do I resize an image properly?

The most important thing is to pay attention to the aspect ratio of your image. For instance, if you have a landscape-oriented photo that has the 3:2 aspect ratio and the pixel dimensions of 6000x4000, then your resized copy cannot be 5000x3500px, because that’s not the 3:2 aspect ratio.

If you enter these pixel dimensions or the dimensions where the height is larger than the width – even though you have a landscape-oriented photo – our picture resizer will place your image against its enlarged, blurred version. To avoid this, make sure not to mess up the aspect ratio when specifying the settings.

If you want to change the size and aspect ratio of your photo, use our Image Cropper.

How can I resize an image to make its file size smaller?

If pixel dimensions of your resized image will be smaller than of your original image, then its file size will also be reduced. For example, if your original image is 6000x4000px, you can change its pixel dimensions to 4000x2000px, and as the result, the file size of your resized image will decrease, as well.

In addition to this, you can change the file format and slightly lower the quality. In the “File Format” drop-down menu choose “Convert to JPEG and compress”. This option will produce a compressed image with new pixel dimensions and lower file size.
